Premier Peter Gutwein conspicuously absent from PM's Tasmanian tour
There was one noticeable absentee when Prime Minister Scott Morrison toured a northern winery on Monday morning, Tasmanian Premier Peter Gutwein.
While the Prime Minister was flanked by federal Bass MP Bridget Archer, Lyons candidate Susie Bower and Senators Claire Chandler and Wendy Askew, Mr Gutwein held a competing press conference 50 minutes down the road at Bell Bay.
Normally, state premiers and prime ministers can't be separated during a Tasmanian visit, particularly on the eve of a federal election campaign.
