Australia vs India 2020-21: KL Rahul Relaxes With Hardik Panyda, Mayank Agarwal As Quarantine Ends

 Ahead of India's series-opener against Australia, wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul spent some time relaxing with close friends and teammates Hardik Pandya and Mayank Agarwal, as well as Mayank's wife Aashita Sood in Sydney. Rahul shared an Instagram story where the four can be seen sitting at a picturesque open-air restaurant of cafe. The Indian Cricket Team was in quarantine so far, after having landed from the United Arab Emirates after the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. The three India cricketers will be back in action on Friday, when Australia and India play the first of three One-day Internationals (ODIs).

Hobart City Council to vote on expanded conflict of interest registry

 A new policy to proactively declare councillors' potential conflicts of interests before they arise is set to be voted on at a Hobart City Council meeting this evening. If passed, it will bring the council in line with other capital city councils around Australia.  Under the new policy, how many properties councillors own, which companies they hold shares in, and major income sources could all become publicly available from April. Fears drought could follow floods as BOM forecasts chance of El Niño arriving off back of La Niña

 Farmers across Australia are anxiously watching long-term climate forecasts, with fears a hot and dry El Niño system could back up the current flood-inducing La Niña.     The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) has advised that 40 per cent of past La Niña events have switched to El Niño events in the same year that a La Niña has ended. This year's La Niña is expected to recede by autumn. The last El Niño resulted in a record-breaking drought from 2017 to 2020, and that has farmers worried. "I don't want to think about El Niño or another drought," Moree grain and beef producer Oscar Pearce said.
