Changes in Residential Tenancy Laws in Hobart, Tasmania during COVID-19

Image
Hello friends, my name is Sasha! I am a long time resident of Tasmania and for the past one year living in Hobart. I came to the city in search of a better job and connectivity but now I am planning to move. At present I am living in a rented property and for the last few months have been getting an extension on my lease due to the COVID-19 pandemic. My landlord and his wife are sweet and respectable which is why they understood my problem as a tenant and have allowed me to stay in the property a little longer than my original lease. I will be moving out of their real estate soon and will always be grateful. However, not everyone is lucky like me or experienced. Many are impacted by the pandemic and stressed about eviction, rent increase and much more. But! I urge you all stuck in situations like this to be brave.   The government has heard the plight of tenants and made necessary changes to protect us from evictions. Want to know about the amendments? Here is a wonderful article by pr

Thinking about travel in the middle of a global pandemic is a bit of a minefield to say the least. Hobart rent prices drop amid coronavirus border closures, job losses
