ABC Hobart celebrates unsung heroes including retired farmer Norman Spurr

 Patricia Harvey is "in trouble" for nominating retired farmer Norman Spurr for ABC Hobart's inaugural Community Spirit awards. "He is just amazing, he keeps thinking up all these ideas," she said of his service to the Kingborough Community Missions, a volunteer group she founded that provides at least 250 meals a week to those doing it tough. Mr Spurr, who was yesterday announced the winner of the Community Champion category, said the nomination had come as a surprise. AUCKLAND TO HOBART FLIGHTS RESTART ON THURSDAY AFTER 25 YEARS

 Direct flights between Auckland and Hobart will restart for the first time since 1996 on Thursday. The Air New Zealand A321-271NX, ZK-NNA msn 08496, will depart Auckland at 9am as flight NZ197 and land in Hobart at 11am. The return flight will depart an hour and a half later. It comes after the trans-Tasman bubble opened on Monday, paving the way for quarantine-free flights between the two countries. Woman thrown from car, killed in crash near Hobart
